HONORS STUDENTS:

Honors students with declared majors should meet with their faculty advisors for Summer/Fall 2022 registration advising and to retrieve their Alt PINs.

Undeclared Honors students should meet with their Honors advisor for Summer/Fall 2022 registration advising and to retrieve their Alt PINs.

Honors Advisors April Tallant, Colin Townsend and Emily Sharpe will be available for virtual appointments and virtual drop-ins. You can check their availability and/or make an appointment with them in Navigate.

NON-HONORS UNDECLARED STUDENTS: Will need to schedule an appointment with their Professional Advisor within the Advising Center prior to their registration date. Emails will be sent to students’ catamount email account with more information.

STUDENTS ENROLLED IN THE LEAD MINOR PROGRAM:

Advising for the LEAD Minor is handled by Dr. Yancey Gulley.

These are group advising sessions for all freshmen and sophomores. During these meetings, we will provide you with detailed information regarding which classes you should be registering for during the Spring 2022 semester. We will be happy to answer any additional questions you may have during this time. You will be provided your alt pin for registration during this meeting. Please arrive on time.

ALL PRE-FS STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED to attend a mandatory meeting in AP 201 (the auditorium in the Apodaca Science Building) from 10:00 – 11:00 am. During this meeting, we will discuss the FS application process.

No advising appointments will be honored before advising day. Additionally, if you fail to attend your session on advising day, you WILL NOT receive your alt pin until late March. Failure to attend these mandatory advising meetings will reflect poorly on your interest in your education and entry into the Forensic Science Program.

In order to receive your alt pin, you should send your Forensic Science advisor your prospective schedule for Spring 2022 by Wednesday, February 16th. Your advisor will get back to you with your alt pin based on the order in which your email was received. If a follow-up meeting is required, your advisor will schedule with you via Zoom or in person.

An Advising Day meeting for all majors will be held on November 2 at 9:00am in University Auditorium. An email and a calendar invite with additional information will be sent out to all of SAS ahead of time.
