Tuck River Cleanup

Help us show some love to the outdoor spaces we all enjoy in and around Jackson County by participating in the 37th Annual Tuck River Clean Up. The first 300 people to participate will receive a free t-shirt!

In an effort to meet local, state, university, and national guidelines, including those for social distancing and mass gatherings, Campus Recreation and Wellness has adapted Tuck River Clean Up to a weeklong, WCU community trash clean up effort during the week of April 19th-23rd.

Your participation in Tuck River Clean Up can count towards service hours and Lily Points.

We are grateful for your support and hope you help us clean up our local outdoor spaces.  Please be on the lookout for updates, words of encouragement, and awesome trash collection photos on our social media!

If you have any questions, please contact Kay Tufts by emailing kjtufts@wcu.edu.

How to Participate:

  • Between April 19th-23rd, pick up trash in your favorite outdoor location or the space you frequent the most.  Outdoor spaces can include, and are not limited to: trails, parks, neighborhoods, rivers, lakes, waterfalls, yards, creeks, parking lots, sidewalks, etc.  If it’s outside, it counts!
  • Take a photo of yourself in your chosen location with the trash you collected.
  • Stop by the front desk of the CRC, on Monday - Friday between 8am-5pm.  Show your trash collection photo to the staff to receive a free t-shirt while supplies last.

*T-shirts must be picked up in person.  CRW is unable to mail t-shirts at this time.
