Western Carolina University's four-year academic program in Sport Management prepares students for a variety of sport related careers. It has received program approval from the Sport Management Program Review Council since 1996. Students choose from six areas of concentration that target the Sport Management major's career interests. In order to graduate with a B.S. Degree with a major in Sport Management, students are required to complete a 12 week, forty-hour/week internship. Prior to the internship, Sport Management majors can gain field experience through cooperative placements and apprenticeships.
