This guide discusses how to submit your work to an evaluator for grading or scoring.
Note the difference between Review and Evaluate. Submitting your work for review includes sending it to a person (e.g., a Cooperating Teacher) so they can look at it and give feedback. A review does not result in a score being left on your work - only feedback. Also note that all reviewers' feedback sent through TaskStream is available to an evaluator. Submitting your work for evaluation is when you have your work finalised and ready to be scored. An evaluation does result in a score being left on your work.
This guide assumes you are currently working on a portfolio in TaskStream, such as the Teacher Work Sample or the Technology Portfolio.

Click on “Teacher Work Sample ”. You will see the icon by "Teacher Work Sample" change to yellow indicating you are currently viewing that item. This gives an overview for submitting the Teacher Work Sample.

Click on "Description of Context" - the first item. This will display information on what to submit for this item.

When you scroll down to the bottom of the instructions, there is a section titled “Evaluation aMethod.” This section describes how your work will be evaluated. If rubric will be used to evaluate your work, a link will be provided stating “View Rubric.” You can click this link to view the rubric (if applicable). Here, a simple "Meets Requirements" score will be given.

Scroll back up to the top and click on “Add/Edit Work” when you are ready to begin working on this item. The window below will pop up. Here you can also see the Directions and Evaluation method for this item.

For this item, you must enter the information in a fill-in form. Answer each question to the best of your ability.

For the last item in the form, you may submit a MS Word file instead of typing in your response. Whether you do this or not, click "Save" when you are done with the form.

If you wish to upload a separate MS Word file, click the "Attachments" tab in the "Add/Edit" window. Locate your file using the "Browse" button, then click "Add File." Close this window when you are done entering information in the form and uploading any files.

Next, click on the next item under Teacher Work Sample: "Teacher Candidate Goals." Follow the instructions for this and all following items. The remaining items require various files to be attached.
NOTE: Simply uploading your file to Taskstream does not mean you are finished. You MUST submit the assignment (see following pages) before a faculty member can evaluate your work
When you are ready to submit your work, you can click on the “Go to Submission Area” or click on the number 5 purple tab labeled “Submission & Evaluation” located in the right hand corner of the page.

Under the Teacher Work Sample section, the Description of Context item displays “In Progress.” When you are ready to submit your work on this item to be evaluated, click on the “Submit” button beside that item. Note: You MUST complete this process in order for faculty to evaluate your work.
You can choose to enter any text along with your assignment as a comment to the evaluator of the assignment. This is optional and it is not a requirement.
After entering a quick comment to the evaluator (if you wish), click on “Submit for Evaluation.” Notice that it says at the top of the window that once you have submitted your assignment, it will be ‘locked’ and can not be edited unless released by the faculty member evaluating your assignment.

The window now shows that the work has been submitted, as well as the date that it was submitted. Be sure you submit all items required fro the Teacher Work Sample.
