This guide discusses how to review and give feedback on student work.
This process only gives feedback to students on their work. To give a recorded score, see the process on How To: Evaluate Student Work.
Depending on how the program is set up, You may have to tell your students to send the work to you for review. See the How To for students on this topic.
Assuming students have submitted work for you to review, go in to the program in TaskStream that students are working on through "My Programs." Find the program's box. If you are set up as a reviewer, you will have a link that says "Give Feedback/Review" in the box. If you do not see this link, contact Dr. Lee Nickles at 227-3299 or lnickles@wcu.edu. Click on the link.

If you have student work waiting for feedback, you will see the message in red seen below. You will typically want to leave the circles checked as they are below, in their default positions. Click the yellow Continue button.

On the next screen you will see a list of all students that have requested your feedback. To look at a student's work, click on their name.

On this screen, you will see the entire portfolio. The area that is to be reviewed is indicated by a red arrow. In the case below, the entire Teacher Work Sample has been sent for review. All items underneath "Teacher Work Sample" are visible to you and can be reviewed.

Select the item you wish to review. In this case, we select "Teacher Candidate Goals" under the Teacher Work Sample. You can see the directions for this item, the evaluation method, and under these the file(s) the student has uploaded to respond to this item. Click on the files to open and view them in separate windows.

After examining the student's work, go back to the TaskStream page (above) and click the grey "Add Comment" button. This will bring up the new window seen below.

Here you can type comments to the student on this item. When finished, click "Send Comment"

You will go back and see the student's files again along with your comment. You can edit the comment or add multiple comments for each item. Once you have added a coment, it is automatically available to the student to view in TaskStream.
