How To: Evaluate a Student's Autobiography

Go to http://www.taskstream.com and enter your username and password to log in. If you’ve forgotten your password, you can click on the “Forgot Password?” link and your password will be e-mailed to you.

If you need further assistance or are stuck for more than 5 minutes, contact Dr. Lee Nickles: 828.227.3299; lnickles@wcu.edu

  1. Sign in to TaskStream [Go to http://www.taskstream.com and use your username and password to log in]
  2. Look for the " 1. Teacher Education Candidacy" portfolio under the "My Programs/DRFs" heading on the main page. [If you do not see this, call or e-mail Dr. Lee Nickles]
  3. Click on the "Evaluate" link in this row.
  4. To find all the students that have submitted an autobiography to you for review, look for the header "Select DRF area to display:" and select the circle by "Autobiography." Next, look for the header "Select what to display:" and make sure "People with items awaiting evaluation" is selected.
  5. Click the yellow "Continue" button
  6. If there are students that need evaluation, you will see them listed in rows. Each student needing evaluation will have a yellow "Evaluate" button to the right of their name.
  7. Select the student to evaluate and click the yellow "Evaluate" button.
  8. Look for the "File Attachments:" header. The file(s) the student submitted will be listed under this heading. Click on the link for each file (typically only one Word document) to view the file.
  9. Once you have read the student's autobiography, you can close Word (or whatever program you used to read it).
  10. Back in TaskStream, look for the green "Evaluate/Score Work" button. It should be near the top right corner of the screen
  11. A new window will open. Look at the rubric for this assignment and type in your score in the space provided under the rubric
  12. If you scored the autobiography as a ‘3’ or ‘4’, select “Record as final and release evaluation to author now”. If the score is less than a ‘3’, select “Send back for revision”.
  13. Finally, click the yellow "Submit" button at the bottom.
  14. You will be returned to the list of students to be evaluated. If there are no more students to evaluate, you will see the message "There is no work awaiting evaluation."
  15. Repeat steps 7-13 for all students that need their autobiography evaluated.
  16. Done!
