Faculty Evaluation Instructions

for Taskstream EDCI 231 Reflective Journal Common Assignment

Go to the Internet and type www.taskstream.com to log in and enter your username and password. If you have forgotten your password, click on “Forgot Password” and follow the instructions. Your password will be e-mailed to you from Taskstream. For Taskstream help, you can contact Taskstream directly at 1-800-311-5656 listed on the home web page.

Once you are logged into Taskstream, click on the “My Programs” link on the top left portion of the screen or near the middle of the page.

Select the program for which you are evaluating student work. In this case, you are selecting from the “1. WCU Teacher Education Candidacy Program”. Click on “Evaluate.” (If you do not see the above programs, contact Lee Nickles (x3299) to be enrolled in the programs. This must be completed first before you can view the programs above.)

Click on the “EDCI 231” button. A message letting you know that new submissions are ready to be evaluated appears in red. Click on “People with items awaiting evaluation” and then click on “Continue”.

A list of all of the students awaiting evaluation will display. Scroll down to the student that you wish to evaluate.

Find the student you wish to evaluate. Click on “Evaluate” in the center column.

Now that you have accessed the student’s work, click on “View author’s work” to see the available options.

Once you have chosen to view the author’s work, you can choose to read the directions for the entry, check the evaluation method, or go ahead and open the student’s file.

At this point you can select from three options:

  • Open the student’s file in Microsoft Word
  • Save the file to your computer to read later
  • Print the file

The author’s article displays and is ready to read in preparation for evaluation. After reading the article, click on the “X” on the top right of the open box. This will return you to the evaluation screen.

Once you have finished reading the student’s work and are ready to evaluate it, simply click on the green “Evaluate/Score Work” button.

Immediately, the rubric will display in a new screen window so that you can again see the evaluation method that will be used for this particular assignment.

Scroll down the screen, enter comments about the grading criterion (these are optional), enter the final score for the assignment (2), and any overall comments that you would like the student to view (3). You can choose to either send the paper back for revision by the author or you can record the score (4). You can record the score in one of two ways. The first way is release the evaluation later if you would prefer to release the scores to your class all at once, or the second is to release the evaluation immediately. Once you have made your choice, click on the “Submit” button that is in the bottom right-hand corner and you will have completed the evaluation process. You will be returned to the screen with student names and work to be evaluated. You can evaluate other student work or log out of Taskstream by clicking on the “Log Out” link in the far left hand bottom corner of the page.
