Bath, NC was the hiding place for Blackbeard during his piracy days. Blackbeard
began pirating after the Queen Anne's War had ended in 1713. Captain Benjamin
Honigold gave Blackbeard his start. It was only right to name his first captured
ship the 'Queen Anne's Revenge'. Blackbeard was not the only pirate that roamed
the waters of North Carolina, but he is the most famous.
He was killed off the coast of Ocracoke, NC in 1718. Blackbeards ship was found in March, 1997 off the coast of Beaufort, NC.
